General Staging Requirements
The Stage
Sally's whip cracking acts require a minimum of 15’ of clearance in all directions.
The stage or performance area must be clear of obstructions such mic stands, band equipment, DJ booths, furniture, and poles as well as low hanging chandeliers, light fixtures, decor, or aerial apparatuses.
Whips will not crack if they do not have enough space to move unobstructed by obstacles. They also have the incredible ability to catch on or wrap around and grab anything they come across from slatted walls to the feet of couches.
Lighting
Whip cracking performances are best perceived in well lit environments. Do not use strobe lights.

Safety & Liability
Audience Separation
Whip cracking performances can not be stationed in high traffic areas where patrons or staff may be milling about. At no point should audience members be able to walk through the performance area, walk directly behind the performer, or otherwise approach the performer while she is performing.
For safety and liability purposes, It is not recommended to seat diners or patrons next to the stage.

Considerations for Outdoor Performances
Extreme Temperatures
Sally will not perform whip cracking outdoors once the temperature reaches approximately 32° Fahrenheit (0° Celsius). Some whip crackers might, but not Sally. She does not like to be cold. Additionally, bundling for warmth can impede the shoulder mobility and hand dexterity required to crack and flourish the whip. Wind chill will be taken into consideration with the calculation of the temperature.
Weather & Inclement Conditions
It is not possible to predict the weather with accuracy when planning for outdoor performances that will take place at a future date. Alternate plans should be made for performances in the event of rain, storms, or other conditions that may be considered dangerous or otherwise unsuitable for outdoor performances.

Travel Considerations
